If regular maintenance and tuning up hasn't been done in a long time (or ever) there's a real good chance that this is the cause of any slowness. From the sound of it (judging from the aging video card) the PC is probably an older model. The lag can also be caused by many other issues like malware/viruses or just a plain lack of maintenance or too many processes running. We could also use more info about your PC specs: CPU, RAM, hard drive size and speed, etc. Sometimes a bad video cable or loose connection between the PC and monitor can cause color problems. But do skin tones look normal? Or are they 'splotchy'? Are color gradients smooth or does a blue sky have obvious divisions between shades of blue? These types of things can tell us if the video driver is loaded and functional, or if it's something else. You mention watching a DVD is jumpy and/or slow. ![]() Windows has a 'High Contrast' theme which is only a few colors, if it's combined with an ExtraLarge font scheme, it wouldn't be effected by re-installing a video driver. ![]() ![]() ![]() this would explain the large fonts and the tri-color.
